This video could be evidence for the Building Later level. Rebecca stops writing her sentence, walks over to the word wall, reads through the words, and chooses the one card she needs. She then goes back to her seat and uses the card she chose to write out the word “pretty.” Rebecca returns the card to the word wall to put it away. She is using a familiar strategy as a source of information.

This video could be evidence for the Integrating Earlier level. Rebecca phonetically spells some words she is writing (lion, because). When she gets to a word that she needs help spelling (pretty), she goes to the word wall to find it.
